One of Nigeria’s most prolific novelists, Professor Isidore Okpewho passed on on Sunday at the age of 74. Here are seven things you should know about him;
° He was born in Agbor, Delta state on November 9, 1941, and attended St. Patrick’s college, Asaba.
• He graduated from the University of Ibadan with a first class honors in Classics
° He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Denver, USA
• In 1976, he won the African Arts Prize for literature
° In 1993, he also won the Commonwealth Writérs Prize
• He authored four novels; The Victims, The Last Duty, Tides,and Call me by my Rightful Name
° He is survived by his wife and four children
