The Nigerian Senate has voted in favor of a motion asking the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal to resign. The motion was put to vote after a committee led by Senator Shehu Sani indicted Babachir Lawal in the misappropriation of money meant for the Presidential Initiative for the North East.
The SGF was discovered to be listed as a director in one of the companies which received a contract worth ocer N100 million for the “eradication of stubborn grasses” in an IDP camp.
Senator Baba Kaka Garbai raises an additonal prayer that David Babachir Lawal should immediately resign as SGF & be prosecuted accordingly.

Senator Ahmed Sani seconds the additional prayer. Senate President put it to Vote and the Yays have it that SGF Babachir Lawal resign.
