Injured Oghenekaro Ruled Out Of Wolves Trip To Burkina Faso

Oghenekaro Etebo will miss Warri Wolves’ Caf Confederation Cup clash with RC Bobo through injury, as officials have confirmed 18 players ready for the journey to Burkina Faso.

Injury has delayed the release of the forward from the Nigeria Under-23 camp. The club will fly out of the country to Burkina Faso on Thursday ahead of the Confederation Cup preliminary round clash slated for the weekend.

“All our player with the national team have returned to the club, but Etebo was not released as he is nursing an injury in the U-23 team,” said a club official.

“We are going to miss him, because he is one of our best. He is clinical in front of goal even though he is not an out-and-out striker.”

The Glo Premier League side have been in a closed training camp in Otu-Jeremi, in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Wolves’ roster for the game against Bobo includes; Goalkeepers, Daniel Akpeyi and Okiemute Odah; Goodluck Ononomado, Eyimofe Joseph, and Semiu Liadi, who joined the club from Enyimba.

Others are Monday Osagie, Oke Ogagotewho, Igbenegbu Ikechukwu, Michael egbeta, Michael Okoyoh, Joseph Osadiaye, Stanley Dimgba, Abu Azeez and Bright Akpojuvwewo.

The Under-23 players released from the Dream Team VI camp, who are likely to be listed for the match in Burkina Faso (depending on the coach’s plan), are: Ichull Lordson, Austin Amutu, Omoforman Freedom and Achibi Ewenike.
