SCREENING OF JAMB/UTME CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION IN THE 2010/2011 ACADEMIC SESSION COMMENCES 28TH JUNE, 2010.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) hereby announces that 2010/2011 Post–UTME Screening Exercise for Admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2010/2011 Academic Year commences on July 6th – July 14th, 2010. It should be noted that the screening would be computer-based in relevant UTME subjects. Detailed information will be released later.

  15. I believe we have all heard about the date for Unilag’s Post Utme screening exercise. It starts on the 28th of June, 2010 and it is going to be a week long exercise.

    We should start keeping our ears to the ground as what remains now is for the Senate committee to meet and bring out modalities for UNILAG POST UTME screening exercise.

    Let me tell you some things you need to know about UNILAG POST UTME screening exercise:

    1) You would have to register for UNILAG POST UTME online. Last year the price was N2200 (N1000 for registration, N1000 to check your result , and N200 as bank charges).

    2) The fees could be paid into Unilag account number which you would find on “www.unilag.edu.ng” and can be paid into either UBA, WEMA, FIRST BANK OR INTERCONTINENTAL BANK. It is advisable to make the payment in these banks branches in Unilag.

    3) UNILAG POST UTME would be done online – there are two centers, one in UNILAG (Multipurpose Hall) and the other in Electronic Test Company, Ikeja.

    4) UNILAG POST UTME would be done in batches, days and times for each faculties would be announced as time progresses.

    you can only know the cut off after the exams has been done.

    meanwhile the way the cut off is gotten is different from the way you guys think about it.

    after the university decide the total no to admit the from the calculated score. then the cut off. so it is a long thing.

Information on unilag website say post utme commences JUNE 28,2010 ad no further info.You can have a taste of cut -off by finding out d grading system of the school,like I of unilag (divide the jamb score by 8 and the post jamb score by 2, add the results /100, the cut -off would be based on this) do urs by dividing ur score by 8 and UI and LASU use SSCE results in their grading.I ‘ve helped.     UNILAG, no price the form yet ,but i know students did pay 1k last to obtain from some banks to post jamb form online ad pay 1000 to check result the exams.
    LASU, no mention of post utme now,but i guess u know that lasu don’t jame ume score for admission they grade ssce result and post ume to offer admission

  88. UNILAG CASE STUDY
    Two students with scores 300 and 240 in JAMB respectively seek admission.

    OPTION 1- WITHOUT POST JAMB :The student with 300 get d admission if the cut-off is more 240 and catchment cut-off is also more than 240 or the student with is not from catchment state(s) with UNILAG if d catchment cut-off is 240 or less.
    OPTION 2- WITH POST JAMB: each score divide by 8, with 300 giving 37.5 ad 240 giving 30,d two students have to prove their credentials in POST JAMB exam to be admitted, assuming one 300 score 40/100 in post jamb and other with 240 score 70 in post jamb. THE RESULT
    40 and 70 divide by 2 give 20 and 35 and added to result jamb/8
    one with 300 has 37.5+20=57.5/100
    other with 270 has 30+35= 65/100
    for a course with cut-off as high as 65 ,the guy with 240 get d admission with a reasoning path not on a compromised level. Forget the naija factor

Most of us would be asking ourselves “IF UNILAG IS GOING TO CONDUCT THE POST UTME THIS YEAR, WHEN WOULD THEY START SELLING THE POST UTME FORM?”, I also asked Prof. Longe (Dean of Students Affairs, Unilag) and his response was “THERE WOULD BE POST UTME THIS YEAR AND I SHOULD BE CHECKING UNILAG’S WEBSITE THIS WEEK FOR MORE INFORMATION”

    While it is now certain that Unilag post utme would hold on the 28th of June, 2010. The question is “ARE YOU PREPARED FOR UNILAG POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE?” Let me give you some questions you should ask yourself:

    1) Am I confident in using the computer, because UNILAG POST UTME is a computer bashed exercise.

    2) Of the 10 questions per subject ( total is 40, since you would do the same 4 subjects you did in UTME), Am i sure of getting at least 7 of them.

  206. With futher information on UNILAG POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE being delayed, let us know that there are two possibilities:

    1) The date of the POST UTME could be postponed; or

    2) Like it was done in 2004, UNILAG could decide to start selling their POST FORM FIVE(5) days to the exam, i.e., possibly on the 23rd of June. In 2004, UNILAG announced October 6 as the date of her POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE, forms did not go on sale until the 1st of October, 2004. Those who were fortunate to get the information did, while the unfortunate ones had to wait another year.

    So these are the two scenarios that we are being faced with. But my advise to you is to keep your eyes and ears glued to “www.unilag.edu.ng”,or tune in to Unilag Fm 103.1 or Join “UNILAG POST UTME” on facebook or better keep following this trend.

    For those of you who have not yet gotten UNILAG POST UTME PAST QUESTIONS, It is never to late to get one and practice it.   214. All this details I am about to post now are all based on the 2008/2009 UNILAG POST UME EXERCISE.

    1) The cut-off mark to be eligible to sit for UNILAG POST UME is 200 in your JAMB.

    2) Only those who chose UNILAG as First Choice are eligible to sit for the POST UME EXERCISE.

    3) You are going to be tested based on the FOUR (4) subjects you did in your JAMB.

    4) Ten questions are asked per subject, 40 questions in total. Time alloted is 40 minutes for the 40 questions.

    5) Your JAMB score is 50% of your aggregate score while your POST UME is the other 50%.

    6) Cut-off marks are gotten from the aggregate scores. The highest cut-off for the 2009 POST UME was 69% (LAW) while the Lowest was 49%(Guidance and Counselling).

    The University of Lagos hereby announces the details of its Post-UTME Screening Exercise for Admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2010/2011 Academic Year. It should be noted that the screening would be computer-based in relevant UTME subjects.Provisions have been made for candidates to be familiar with the use of computer on the website for a demonstration practice test.

    A. DATE AND TIME:

    The Screening Exercise will take place according to the schedule below between Tuesday 6th July and Wednesday 14th July, 2010 from 8.00a.m each day

    B. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES:

    All candidates who scored 200 and above and have made UNILAG their FIRST CHOICE Institution, in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) are eligible for the screening. In addition the candidates must possess (five) 5 credit passes in relevant O’level subjects including Mathematics and English Language at ONE sitting.Candidates awaiting results are also eligible.Candidates who will not be sixteen (16) years of age by 1st October, 2010 are not eligible

    GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

    (i) GSM, electronic calculators and other devices are not allowed.
    (ii) Parents, Guardians and other unauthorised personnel will not be allowed on the campus and at the screening centres during the Post-UTME Exercise.

    C.PROCEDURE FOR POST-UTME SCREENING:

    (i) Candidates are to make payment of N1,000.00 to any branch of

For those of you who can’t access “www.unilag.edu.ng”, try later at night, preferably around 11pm as by this time traffic to “www.unilag.edu.ng” would have dropped.

    Those getting Please go and make payment in the bank and have paid at the bank, need not worry cause the bank would soon confirm your payment.

    Those of you who have printed out your slip, should make sure your PICTURE appears on it, the time, date and venue of your exam would also be written on your post utme slip.

    The UNILAG postume is like ths:
    Each studnt r given 40 questns, 25 english and 15 maths. For each person the computer randomly selects his/her questns.
    All ths questns are picked from 200 english questns and 100 maths questns stored on the server.
    Becos we cant figure out the exact 40 questns u’ll do, therefore u need 2 get the whole 200 englsh and 100 maths.
