Former Army Official Seeks To Defend Al-Mustapha In Court

Former Lieutenant Colonel  Silas Jock Santio has expressed his willingness to support Al-Mustapha in court. Santio, who suffers a somewhat similar predicament to that of Hamza Al-Mustapha in that he believes he was unfairly treated as he was prematurely dismissed from the Nigerian army said Mr Al-Mustapha was framed up by some army Generals and undemocratic forces.

In a letter addressed to President Goodluck Jonathan dated August 6th, 2011  he expressed his willingness to testify before the  High Court in Lagos concerning what he knew with regards to the Al-Mustapha case. In the letter he said:

“In view of these developments, considering the transformation agenda of the present administration, I will appreciate that you please make necessary arrangement to enable me to appear as a witness for Major Al-Mustapha in my position as his colleague in the military, based on the evidence he has presented in the court.

“I could also be of use in his case by supporting him with some evidence for his matter based on my personal experience on the issue of injustice in Nigeria,” he said.
