“Win the NPL and get a car and a plot of land,” State Government Tells Enugu Rangers

Enugu State Government has promised players of the Enugu Rangers Football Club that they stand to get a brand new car and a plot of land if they win they win last game in the league on Friday and are crowned the winners of the Nigerian Premier League (NPL).

The information was made known by the special adviser to Enugu State Governor, Victor Atuonwu, while addressing the club management as they prepare to host Sharks in their last match of the 2011/2012 Nigeria Premier League season at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Friday. Atuonwu also pointed out that government has not reneged on its promises of paying the players 100 per cent sign-on fees for the 2011/2012, which were fully paid by Tuesday, while other entitlements including outstanding match bonuses will be paid before the last match on Friday.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Rangers board Festus Onuh also promised mouth- watering cash rewards when Rangers win the league on Friday. According to him, all board members will be at the stadium to cheer Rangers to victory and that no gate fees will be paid by the fans.

Rangers are third on the NPL table with 61 points and will be crowned champions on the final day of the season on Friday only if leaders, Kano Pillars and Lobi Stars, both lose their final games away to Sunshine Stars and Kaduna United respectively.
