ACN Raises Alarm over Failing Economy of the Country

laiThe Action Congress of Nigeria has raised the alarm that the nation’s economy was gradually grinding to a halt. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the ACN warned that if the trend was not urgently halted, the Federal Government might in the next few years be unable to pay its bills, including workers’ salaries.

According to the ACN, this is predicated on four “empirical evidences” – high cost of oil production, massive graft in the oil sector, sharp fall in the discovery of new oil wells and gas reserves as well as the discovery of new energy sources by Western nations.

However, in order to overcome these challenges, the ACN enjoined the Federal Government not to see its alarm as mere politicking as it “is borne out of patriotic fervour.” The party then asked the Goodluck Jonathan administration to “cut the astronomical cost of running a bloated government and take urgent measures to diversify the economy and shore up the production of oil, which remains the mainstay of the country’s economy.

  1. National Publicity Secretary for ACN, Alhaji Lai Mohammed is a noise maker. Someone should tell him to Face Lagos state and remove his eyes from Goodluck Jonathan Ebele. I foresee Lagos state economy crashing very soon due to in appropriate ways the Lagos state govt is closing down and demolishing shops and markets. Watch out and see! ACN is not sincere.
