1, Dress Warm:

This might seem difficult to do because the weather can also get very hot. The trick is to make sure that when it gets cold, you’re warmly clothed. This doesn’t mean you should buy a winter jacket. Just add a few additional items of clothing here and there. You can wear a blazer over your work shirt or a cotton vest under.

2, Avoid cold Drinks:

Resist the urge to down a cold bottle of soft drink in this weather. The trick is to drink hot things when it’s cold and cold things when it’s hot.

3, Get a good Night’s Sleep:

The most important things in terms of improving immunity are rest and good sleep. A strong immunity keeps you from being susceptible to colds. While individual needs vary, most experts recommend at least seven hours a night.

4, A Healthy Diet:

A healthy diet is also vital.  Enjoy a diet packed with whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. Foods like oranges, pineapple, and colourful peppers are packed with vitamin C, which helps your body produce infection-fighting antibodies and can keep you from catching a cold. Vitamin A helps keep skin and mucous membranes in the nose and mouth healthy, so they can act as a protective barrier against bacteria and viruses. Sources include orange, red, yellow, and dark green fruits and vegetables as well as liver

5, Drink Water:

Staying hydrated is key. Drinking adequate fluids keeps mucous membranes moist, which lowers the chance of a cold taking hold in your nose or lungs. Avoid sodas and other heavily sweetened drinks; the added sugar has little nutritional value.

6, Avoid Stress to Avoid Colds:

Serious stress influences the immune system and can leave you susceptible to illnesses such as the common cold. Since stress is unavoidable for many people, it is ideal to find ways to ease the stress of daily living once in a while.
