Alleged Age Falsification: Strip Oshiomhole Of National Honour – PDP Tells Jonathan

Adams-Oshiomhole-612x300The war of words between Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  took a turn for the worse on Thursday as the PDP urged President Goodluck Jonathan to strip Oshiomole of his national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

Briefing journalists yesterday at the Wadata Plaza national secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, Chairman of the Edo state chapter of the party Chief Dan Orbih, said that it was a national dishonour for Oshiomole to have told the world that he was born in 1953 when he was actually born in 1952.

Orbih said it is appalling that the Governor has been deceiving Nigerians with a false date of birth to suit his fraudulent schemes.

According to him, Oshiomole celebrated his 60th birthday this year, but from calculation, affidavits and records obtained, he was actually 61 years, which he (Oshiomole) attested to shortly after the birthday celebration.

“It is also on record that in 2011, the President and Commander in-chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCON, conferred on Oshiomhole the national honour of the rank of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

“Stripping Governor Oshiomhole of this national honour, we believe, not only would help restore the dignity in the honour, but would serve as a deterrent to other holders of national honours who might want to engage in such dishonorable acts,” Orbih said.
