Court Restrains PDP C’ttee From Acting On Suntai

Danbaba-Suntai-Taraba-State1The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its fact finding committee headed by Senator Hope Uzodinma, yesterday, were restrained by a High Court in Jalingo from interfering in any matter bordering on the office of the Taraba State governor.

The suit, filed by Alhaji Garba Julde and Sale Audu Habu, joined the  committee chairman Senator Hope Uzodinma, as co – defendants.

In an exparte motion filed by counsel to the plaintiffs – Barristers E.A. Ibrahim Effiong, P.O. Olusuye and S.E. Keledu before Justice Nuhu S. Adi, the applicants prayed for an order of interim injunction against the respondents.

The suit is challening the constitutionality of the PDP committee.

Justice Nuhu granted the application for the exparte motion in view of the two-week time frame within which the committee is to submit its report.

He therefore restricted PDP or any of its agents from receiving and/or implementing any report submitted to it by the committee pending the determination of the motion.
