Miss Centenary Pageant: Group Prepares for a-Class Event

The National coordinator, Miss Centenary Nigeria Beauty Pageant and Fashion Show Project, Mr. Kolade Oludare has appeal to Nigerians to embrace peace as a prerequisite for the attainment of vision 2020.

 

Mr. Kolade Oludare who was speaking ahead of the Beauty pageant competition billed to take place in Abuja on the 14th December 2013, said the programme is aimed at showcasing the Nigerian womanhood, and how she has evolved in culture and tradition in the last 100 years.

The coordinator also said that, the pre-event activities is to commence with a tour of the six geo-political zones of the country, to select representatives of each State of the Federation.

According to him, the ultimate goal of the event is to contribute towards peace building, irrespective of ethno- religious activities, adding that the winner of the pageant would be given brand new Nigeria manufactured SUV car among others prizes. He said the project is also to afford the winner of the Miss Centenary to participate fully in the general celebration in January 2014.

“The Miss Centenary Nigeria Beauty Pageant and Fashion show is a platform for young women between the ages of 18-25 to attain their future goals and dreams with a strong foundation that is deeply rooted in national unity and pride, thereby acting as a unifying tool for good character regardless of our culture, ethnicity and religious background, and will project a great, vibrant and progressive nation that is ready to be a world leader”.

Mr. Oludare added that the value of culture and traditions cannot be down played, because is a basis for all social existence.

He added that,”It is worthy to note that this pageant is a no-bikini one, as it is strictly a pageant of Nigerian designers and fabrics, as we showcase decency that Nigerian is known for and promote ethnic and value of a nation. And any persons can get the form online at cost of N5000″.

Blueprint also gathered that other side attraction will include talent hunt, cooking competition of Nigerian dishes, workshops, debates on issues of national development, fashion competition among others.
