Nagoya Grampus 1, Arsenal 3: Gunners Record Third Straight Pre-Season Victory in Japan.

Arsenal recorded a 3-1 victory over Japan’s Nagoya Grampus Eight in their latest pre-season tour match.

Olivier Giroud, Ryo Miyaichi and Theo Walcott helped Arsene Wenger claim a convincing victory over his former club.

Giroud scored his sixth goal of the pre-season by directing an excellent third minute header past home keeper Seigo Narazaki after a Tomas Rosicki’s outswinging cross from the right.

The Gunners doubled their lead in the 26th minute when Giroud was fouled in the area. Mikael Arteta stepped up to take the spot-kick but in a brilliant gesture, offered the ball to homeland hero Miyaichi, who made no mistake, helping Arsenal take a 2-0 lead into half-time.

Jack Wilshere was among the four Arsenal players who came on as a second-half substitute, and the English midfielder looked confident in his second pre-season appearances.

Walcott increased the tally to three in the 56th minute after connecting with Gedion Zelalem’s brilliant through pass; he dinked the ball past an on-rushing Narazaki.

Kisho Yano scored a 72nd minute consolation goal for the home team as Arsenal continued their impressive form in the tour of the Far East.
