Those Predicting Nigeria’s Collapse Are Only Wasting Their Time – Jang

Jonah JangGov. Jonah Jang of Plateau on Tuesday declared that all negative predictions on Nigeria would fail.

Jang made the pronouncement in Jos when the National President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, visited him in his office.

The governor, who cited the nation’s security challenges as God’s agenda for its promotion, said, “we have heard many negative predictions about Nigeria and were all to nothing.

“Many people think the whole world is falling on our country because people have predicted all sort of things.

“But such people have failed to understand that Nigeria is a God chosen nation, which shall stand in spite of all odds.

“If anybody thinks Nigeria will collapse, such persons are only wasting their time because Nigeria will continue to wax stronger,” he said.

The governor called on Nigerians not to give up on the country, saying, “we are passing through another phase in our nationhood”.

He said the phase the country was passing through was what all the European countries or developed nations passed through many years back and so there was no cause for alarm.

Jang enjoined the clergy to continue praying for President Goodluck Jonathan and the nation, saying, “the Church should not give up, but be firm in its belief and prayers.”

Earlier, Oritsejafor said he was in the state for a programme organised by the North-Central zone of the association.

He commended the governor for the developmental projects in spite of the crises that bedevilled the state for over a decade.

The CAN president expressed optimism that Plateau and Nigeria would overcome all their challenges to the shame of the enemies.

He, therefore, enjoined Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the nation. (NAN)

  1. Our politicians should be very careful, in what they say and do.
Some of them are altering statements that can trigger off war
in our Nation. It the AGF case, Gov. Jang himself is not helping
matters, they are all heating the polity.
