Delta Police Finding It Hard To Track Down Bank Robbers

After storming an old generation bank at Issele-Uku, Delta State recently, with the money they allegedly targeted coming shortly after they had left, the Delta State Police Command has described the manhunt for the robbers a herculean task, as the command seem not to be making any headway in the hunt.

The robbers had allegedly stormed the old generation bank around noon on the fateful day, and had used dynamite to blast the building, while they shot sporadically to scare people away as they completed their operation.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Lucky Uyabame, who confessed the police command’s frustration said, “no arrest yet but we are not relenting. We are still searching for them but as at now, no arrest has been made.”

According to Uyabeme, on the day the raid took place, “we (police) were trailing the robbers. We were on their trail. We even trailed them to Edo State.”

The Police PRO further hinted that they are considering an insider’s connection, saying “an inside job cannot be ruled out because we gathered that the robbers struck that morning, thinking that the money they were expecting had arrived because not quite few minutes they left after the operation, the money arrived. So you can see the correlation, they had targeted that money, thinking it had come but thank God they did not succeed.”
