Fifa Issues a Two-Week Ultimatum for Keshi to Respond to Fam’s Racism Charges.

Federation of International Football Association (Fifa) has given Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, two weeks to respond to racism charges brought before the world football governing body about comments he made on former Malawi coach Tom Saintfeit.

Thisday reports the deadline was issued in a letter received by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from Fifa before the September 7 2014 World Cup final preliminary round duel at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, where the Eagles emerged 2-0 winners.

According to the letter, Keshi, 51, is expected to respond to the Belgian coach’s claims on or before Thursday, September 19.

The Football Association of Malawi (Fam) had written to Fifa over comments made by Keshi in reference to Saintfeit, saying: “He is not an African person, he is a white dude. He should go back to Belgium.”

Keshi, who was responding to the Football Association of Malawi’s (Fam) security concerns as penned to Fifa last month over the choice of Calabar for the final Group F game, has said he was not throwing jibes at the Belgian, but defending his country and players.

Fifa has critically stated its zero-tolerance stance on racism and has now issued a 2-week ultimatum to Keshi to respond to the charges brought against him before them.
