Glo Premier League Week 33: Bayelsa United Tops as Rabiu Ali Sinks Wolves.

Bayelsa United toppled 6-time champions Enyimba from the top of the Glo Premier League table, after securing a 1-0 victory in a Week 33 clash at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Uche Ihuarulam scored the only goal of the top-of-the-table tie after 18 minutes of action.

The coach Ladan Bosso-led team now seats at the peak of the log having earned 55 points from 33 games.

El-Kanemi Warriors are now ranked second on the Nigeria Professional Football League log, following a 1-0 triumph over Gombe United.


Hassan Hissein scored the match winner in the 31st minute for the hosts who have now racked up 54 points and boasts a superior goal difference over Kano Pillars.

Defending champions Pillars began their banishment to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna by cruising past 2013 Federation Cup finalists Warri Wolves 2-0 away from their Kano home ground.

The ‘Sai Maitsugida’ now have 54 points, while their opponents Wolves have 46.

Thomas Zenke’s goal just 11 minutes before the break was all ABS needed to claim full points as the battle for survival intensifies.

Kwara United were stunned by a late Dolphins winner after holding out for 90 minutes.

Emem Uduok headed in the match winner for Dolphins just a minute into regulation time to seal victory for coac Stanley Eguma’s men in Port-Harcourt.

League leading top scorers in Mfon Udoh and Victor Namo both clashed in Uyo as Akwa and Nasrarawa United faced off.

Udoh opened scoring for the hosts in the 33rd minute but conceded a penalty nine minutes later which was clinically converted by Namo.

Wikki tourists secured the biggest win of Week 33 when they cruised past Nembe City in Bauchi by a 3-0 goal margin.

Ibrahim Shuaibu, Victor Alegbe and Festus Umanah scored for the ‘Tourists’ who are still battling relegation.

Austin Ogbodo and Esosa Igbinoba scored a goal each in quick successions in the first-half of the match between Lobi Stars and Kaduna United.

Siman Yusuf pulled one back for the visitors, but the Makurdi club protected their one-goal advantage till full-time.
