Sunshine were leading 2-1 by half time before Shooting Stars refused to come out for the second half, citing the manhandling of two of their officials by the home fans.

A member of the League Management Company (LMC), Shehu Dikko, disclosed that Sunshine have been awarded the three points and three goals.

“The preliminary decision based on the match commissioner and centre referee confirms that no match officials or technical personnel or player was harassed or beaten and there was adequate security at the venue and that 3SC deliberately abandoned the match in contravention of the rules,” said Dikko.

“Therefore in line to Article 4.2 (2) of the rules, the match has been awarded to Sunshine 3 points 3 goals and 3SC have been fined 3million Naira and also three points will be deducted from there already accrued points.”

Dikko disclosed that a further hearing on the matter will take place on Friday in Abuja.

“However to further ascertain the veracity of the claims of the Oyo Commissioner that he and the team’s camera man were attacked, all parties have been called to a meeting in Abuja on Friday for a hearing,” he announced.

“These are the Sunshine and 3SC bosses, the match commissioner and centre referee as well as Gbolahan Salami, and the Oyo commissioner and 3SC camera man.”
