Premier League Update: United, City, Lose as Cardiff Secure Rare Victory at Craven Cottage.

Manchester United and Manchester City were both stunned by West Brom and Aston Villa on Saturday while the newly-promoted Hull City and Cardiff City both secured a win, as Crystal Palace lost to Southampton.

Manchester United 1 West Brom 2

West Brom secured their first victory at Old Trafford in 35 years thanks to a Saido Berahino’s low strike in the 67th minute.

New signing Morgan Amalfatino got the opening goal for the visitors when his composed chip over David De Gea went into the champions’ net.

Wayne Rooney restored parity in the second-half with another stunning free-kick, his fourth of the season.

Berahino then got his first Premier League goal to hand West Brom a surprise victory.

Marouaine Fellaini’s late effort was ruled out for an offside. The Red devils slumped to their worst ever start to a Premier League season after six matches since 1989-90 season.

Aston Villa 3 Manchester City 2

Manchester City also received a shock defeat in the hands of a determined Aston Villa.

A Yaya Toure volley on the nick of half-time placed the visitors, which has not recorded any away victory so far this season, ahead.

Karim El Ahmadi leveled for Paul Lambert’s men with a close-range finish 6 minutes after the restart only for Edin Dzeko to increase the tally five minutes later.

But Villa equalised through Leandro Bacuna’s free-kick before snatching three points when Andreas Weimann raced through and poked home the winner 15 minutes to the final whistle.
