Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, Saturday, assured that the expansion of the N5 billion Usman Faruk secretariat in Sokoto will be completed on schedule, warning the contractor to avoid doing a job of poor quality.

Speaking during the inspection of the project in Sokoto, Wamakko maintained that the state government would not accept a shoddy job from the contractor. He however noted that from what he had seen so far at the project site, the contractor would execute the job in line with the contractual specification.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far done at the project site and urged the contractor to keep it up.

The governor said the expansion of the Usman Faruk secretariat was meant to provide civil servants in the state with adequate office accommodation in order to improve service delivery.

“As you are aware, our ministries are scattered in different places which hampers smooth administration. So, the essence of the expansion project is to provide a conducive atmosphere for easy communication and administration as well as enhance effective supervision,” he said.

He explained that the asphalting of the access roads and parking space was meant to beautify the secretariat.
