Isaac Success May Miss Out On Eaglets Game Against Iraq

Nigeria’s Under-17 men’s football team striker, Isaac Success, is likely to miss Friday’s FIFA World Cup clash against Iraq in Dubai according to the team’s officials.

Golden Eaglets’ star striker, Isaac Success, looked to have sustained a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s 3-3 draw against Sweden.

He limped off the pitch after pulling a goal back for his side, who were two goals down within 20 minutes of play.

Coach Manu Garba confirmed the striker faces a late fitness test for the final Group F tie, but expressed optimism as well.

“We can’t rule him completely out because the medical crew are paying close attention to his situation,” Garba said. “Hopefully, he would be okay in the later stages of the competition.”

The coach has given his players a break from training upon their arrival in Dubai saying the players deserve some rest after the hard-fought draw against the Scandinavians.

Coupled with the trip the Eaglets have embarked on from their former base Al Ain to Dubai; the team are easing off at the Inter Continental Hotel located within the Dubai Festival City.

They are expected to return to training at the Al Shabab Stadium on Thursday before Friday’s duel against bottom-placed Iraq.

Meanwhile, the team’s doctor, Deji Olarinoye, has notified that all other players, aside Success are in good condition.

“As regard Success, we can’t be speculative until we have done a thorough examination,” Deji added.
