NSC Reshuffles Sports Federations’ Secretaries.

The National Sports Commission has reshuffled secretaries of the various sports federations in the nation with the view to enhancing maximum performance in line with best global practices.

Sports Minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, made the announcement on Monday, after an interactive session with the federations’ secretaries at the Media Centre of the Abuja National Stadium.

The minister said it was important for the commission to improve on its delivery by doing away with the era of lack of productivity to a more enhanced productivity in line with global best practices.

Abdullahi noted that the section was aimed at re-organising the NSC, stressing that the conduct of some of the secretaries in the past have unfortunately smeared the image of the commission in the view of the general public, despite concerted efforts and achievements made in recent times.

According to him, the public erroneously believe that the Commission is only out to sabotage the efforts of the government and the athletes.

He enjoined the secretaries to always promote positive traits and ideas that will inspire and foster growth in the sports sector.

“The performance of the federation is the aggregate performance of the National Sports Commission,” added Abdulahi.

In his remarks, Director General of the NSC, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, noted that the Commission will not leave any stone unturned as they strife to enhance sports productivity.
