Sunshine Stars Will Not Renew Amoo’s Contract

Sunshine Stars coach, Fatai Amoo, looks to be headed for his exit after failing to guide the Ondo State-owned team to any continental competition in the forthcoming season.

According to MTNFootball.com, the former U-23 coach’s contract will not be renewed by his employers, the Ondo State Football Association (OSFA).

“Amoo’s contract was not renewed because he failed to achieve the set target which was a continental ticket, instead the team battled for survival,” a top source told MTNFootball.com.

“The word sack is not ideal because the coaching crew except the TA, Fatai Amoo, signed a year’s contract, which expired at the end of the season, so they are out of contract.

“Amoo joined the team at a point during the season and had a contract to tinker the team till the end of the season.”

The technical crew of Sunshine Queens and Rising Stars were not also renewed because OSFA is looking to reposition the team ahead of the forthcoming season.

This means Kennedy Boboye, the last of the five coaches who took charge of Sunshine Queens last season, and Rising Stars coach Sunday Emmanuel are also headed out.
