No fewer than 21 Local Government Area chairmen across Adamawa State on Friday made an open declaration that after due consultation and deliberation with relevant stakeholders, they have resolved to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to join the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Their action follows the earlier defection of the state governor, Murtala Nyako from the PDP to the APC.
The defectors also include 37 Development Area Administrators.
The Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Alhaji Sa’abo Aliyu, who spoke with journalists in Yola, the state capital, said that they resolved to follow Governor Nyako to APC because they have worked with him and can attest to his good personality, adding that Nyako’s administration has never been selfish as it carries everybody along.
