Bolt Says He Will Run at the Paris Diamond League

Reigning IAAF Athlete of the Year, Usain Bolt, has confirmed he will compete in the Paris Diamond League- Meeting Areva 2014- on Saturday July 5.

The Diamond Race Meeting will be the eighth of 2014 and it will be his fifth appearance on the Stade de France track.

The 27-year-old Jamaican will line up in the 100m- the same category in which he competed in 2009 and 2010 at the same venue.

The Areva Meeting comes three weeks before the Commonwealth Games and the six-time Olympic gold medalist had revealed to the BBC Radio 5 live in September he will decide whether to run in the championships nearer the time.

Bolt has never competed in the Commonwealth Games before and should he appear in Glasgow, which starts on July 23 through to August 3, says he is likely to focus on the 200m- same category which he emerged winner at the 2013 Paris Diamond League.
