Defection Of Members To Opposition ‘Political Madness’, Says Kaduna PDP Chairman

PDP-Members-Defect-To-APCThe People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Kaduna State, Chief Abubakar Gaya Haruna yesterday described the said defection of members of the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as mere “political madness”.

He expressed disappointment that some people, who claimed to have built the PDP decided to jump ship because the house they claimed to have built is in crisis; “why won’t they stay and fix the problem if there is any?” he quipped.

Haruna made this known yesterday when he received a former commissioner for Water Resources in Kaduna, who was a zonal coordinator of Obasanjo/Atiku re-election campaign organisation in the North-West zone, Hon. Hussaini Dambo, who had earlier defected from the party.

According to Haruna, PDP like any other political party had faced crises right from 1999 but always emerge victorious, adding that the present challenges would be addressed in the interest of the party.

“All those leaving will certainly return back; those elected under the PDP should also return our mandate if they are sincere of their defection; I see it as mere political madness”, he said.

Earlier, Hon. Dambo said that, “I was a pioneer member of the PDP since 1998 as the organising secretary and was the first to take PDP to my village in Jama’a local government area in the state.

“I was also a commissioner under the PDP but along the line I was not satisfied with one or two things, so I left. But I have decided to return as a prodigal son with my teeming supporters following persuasions of my people”, he said.
