20 Killed In Plateau

Peace meetings and step-up of security in Plateau state, which brought about the Special Task Force (STF) regardless, violence continues to reign in the Nigerian state, with about 20 lives lost yesterday.

The killings happened when gunmen invaded Mavou village in Wase Local Government Area of the state, barely 48 hours after over 30 people were killed in two villages of Riyom LGA.

The attackers who invaded the village at abut 2a.m. in large numbers shot sporadically into the air. They were also said to have torched abut 10 houses.

No one could ascertain the attackers’ motive, but the attack was not strange as communities in the state have witnessed skirmishes in the past.

Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Felicia Anslem confirmed the attack, but said she was yet to get the details.
