Falcons Draw Rwanda in AWC Second Round Qualifier

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, have been drawn to face Rwanda in the second round of the Africa Women Championship qualifiers.

The She-Amavubi of Rwanda advanced into the current round despite a 2-1 loss to Kenya in Nairobi on Sunday, thanks to an away goal advantage, following their 1-0 home win.

The first leg of the second round tie will be played on the weekend of 23-25 May in Kigali, while the return leg is slated for the weekend of 6-8 June in Abuja.

The winners of the second round matches proceeds to the Africa Women Championship (AWC) in Namibia.

The final tournament also serves as 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup qualifier. The 2015 World Cup is scheduled for Canada from October 11 through to 24.
