Group Distances Self From Endorsement Of Elechi For Senate In 2015

martin_elechi_A group, Igboesa Integrity Forum has distanced itself from the purported endorsement of Ebonyi State Governor, Martin Elechi for Senate come 2015 and blamed “political jobbers” for the development.

A communiqué  signed by the President of the Forum, Chief Ogbu Aleke Godwin, Secretary, Chief Odo Frederick and the Public Relations Officer, Omebe Johnson Nwannaji said they owe it a duty to ensure quality representation on the backdrop of performance.

The group also insisted that they needed a better representation that would ensure social, economic and infrastructural upliftment of Igboesa at the National Assembly – a stand they were not ready to compromise.

“That having critically examined and sampled the opinion of our members and the people of Igboesa in general states that the purported endorsement of Governor Martin Elechi was calculated attempt by some jobbers to mortgage the right of Igboesa people from making their own right choice and having the opportunity to bargain on what to expect from the lawmaker after the election.

“That we want to use this forum to disassociate ourselves from the purported endorsement and wish to state that those who masterminded  the endorsements are not competent to do so on behalf of the people of Igboesa”, they said.

They said at the right time, they will screen and choose with the consent of the people, those who will represent them based on a track record of achievement.

The group also pleaded with President Goodluck Jonathan to facilitate reconstruction of the Nkalagu-Nigercem-Ikem road which has become a death trap.
