Jamiu Akorede, a 35-year-old man, on Thursday urged an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his marriage to his wife, Biliki Akorede over her insincerity.
According to the husband who resides at Gambari Area of the state “My wife formulates lies to justify her lateness whenever she is back from market.”
“I cannot imagine a housewife coming home around 10:30 p.m. claiming it was due to business without considering her husband at home,” he said.
Akorede who got married to his wife in 2010 and blessed with a three-year-old daughter, Jemilat accused his wife of insulting his friends and members of his family whenever they corrected her over the habit.
The wife, Biliki who is still interested in the marriage, however, begged the court not to grant her husband’s prayers, while giving her reason for returning home late at night saying “because I am the only one responsible for the family upkeep because my husband does not attend to his family needs.
“Besides, I do not want to lose my customers by rushing home.”
Biliki however told the court that for the sake of her marriage and daughter, she would adjust and start returnig home early.
The Presiding Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to March 28.
