Ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to Kaduna State today for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, North-West rally, the state chapter of the party has made huge gains with the decamping of “some political heavy weights” into its fold.

A stalwart of the party and former National Assembly member, Mohammed Saleh Annur who spoke to newsmen, weekend, said several politicians who had earlier left the PDP had now indicated their readiness to return to the party.

His words: “I want to assure you that there are many top members of our great party that left few months ago, but because they are now satisfied with the leadership of the party, they are ready to return and they have assured some of us that they are coming back home to the PDP”.

Annur further said many of the former members left the party because of some internal problems, adding:

“Now that we have a new leadership at the national level, the party is becoming stronger and many of our members, both those who decamped and those that wanted to follow them out have now realised that PDP is the only party that guarantees them democracy and freedom”.

He said the state chapter of the PDP was also becoming stronger even in the face of crisis due to the leadership quality of Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero. (NAN)
