Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is a major doubt for Wednesday’s Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona with a hamstring injury.
The Ballon d’Or winner, 29, has missed the Spanish club’s last two matches because of a knee problem.
“Tests have detected that Cristiano Ronaldo has a muscular injury to his left hamstring. Pending developments,” says a Real Madrid statement.

The Portuguese winger might also sit out Real’s next league game against Almeria.
Ronaldo himself said “we have to be patient” regarding his knee injury’s progress, after missing his club’s fourth successive progress to the semi-finals of the European Champions League at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
The ‘Los Blancos’ boss Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, was upbeat about his star player’s situation. He said: “Ronaldo is improving. If it was anything serious, he wouldn’t have been sitting on the bench, but putting him on would have been taking a risk.
“He will continue resting for the next few days and I think he’ll be ready to play some part Almería game.”
