Queens Park Rangers (QPR) manager Harry Redknapp says the club has agreed a deal with Cardiff City for the transfer of Steve Caulker.
Caulker, 22, impressed for the Championship side last season, playing 38 league games and scoring five goals, though could not help the Welsh club avoid relegation.
Redknapp is hopeful the signing of ex-Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand could lure the England international to Loftus Road, but admits the centre-back is still considering offers from other clubs.
“He’s got a couple of other clubs interested in him but I think he feels if he was playing with Rio, it could help him get back into the England team,” said Redknapp.
Caulker, a member of Redknapp’s squad at Tottenham, was not favoured for a first team shirt during the manager’s reign at White Hart Lane.
His only England cap came in a friendly game against Sweden in 2012, where he grabbed a debut goal.
QPR has already landed free agent Ferdinand on a one-year contract.
