Carvajal Sidelined from Spain’s Squad for Macedonia With Injury

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has been ruled out of Spain’s team which hosts Macedonia in a Uefa Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday due to a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old left La Roja’s camp in Valencia on Monday morning and is also now a serious doubt for Real’s Madrid derby against Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

“Dani Carvajal left the Spanish national team’s training camp due to an injury in his left hamstring,” said a statement on the Spanish national team’s website.

Carvajal made his international debut in last week’s 1-0 loss to France, playing the entire duration of the friendly contest.

Chelsea’s Cesar Azpiliqueta is now likely to take his place in the squad.
