If FG Is Sincere, Crushing Boko Haram Cannot Take More Than 30 Days – Sen. Ndume

Ali-NdumeSenator Mohammadu Ali Ndume (PDP, Borno South) has said that the federal government has the ability to end the Boko Haram insurgency in 30 days, including rescuing the Chibok schoolgirls, if it is determined to do so.

The senator, who made the assertion at the daily sit-out session of the #BringBackOurGirls Group yesterday, noted that the crux of the matter had always been a lack of political will, as the insurgents were less than 10, 000 men, compared to the better trained security agencies in the country.

“If the government is sincere, crushing the insurgency cannot be more than 30 days. The Boko Haram cannot be more than 10,000. Are you saying that the Nigerian army and police cannot handle them? I tell you, if the government is fair, this is going to end.

“Villages are being taken over. Konduga is on the defence, because they are like the final bus stop. I believe in destiny and I know only God knows that I did whatever I could. When I get information that will help in curbing the insurgency, I always tell the security personnel. I will tell you that the issue of insurgency has not been properly managed and it has gotten us to where we are today”, Senator Ndume lamented.

Meanwhile, the BBOG Group also decried what it considered the carelessness of the Borno State Government in handling the abducted Chibok girls matter.

According to the group, “There are things we have to push to Borno State government. We need to ask what the governor is doing in taking care of the girl that had escaped”.
