Two suspects, Yaro Juham and Anthony Danjuma, have been remanded in the Kaduna Central Prison by a Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly raping a 32-year-old widow in Kaduna State.

The suspects, it was gathered, were charged to court by the state police command following their arrest on October 16, 2014, at Gwantu, Sanga Local Government Area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Aminu Lawan, yesterday, said: “At about 2 a.m. of that day, the two suspects went into the house of the widow and forced themselves in. They asked the widow to bring out all her valuables and she only had N850.00, which they collected. They later brought out a knife, cut her fingers and asked her to lie down. The first suspect, Yaro Juham, took his turn with the woman and when he finished, the second suspect, Anthony Danjuma, also raped her. The most pathetic aspect of the case is that the first suspect, Yaro Juham, is a distant relation of the widow’s late husband.  When the action was going on, the ten-year-old son of the widow started hitting them on the back, asking them to get off his mother, they ignored the child and pushed him away”.
