Mark Urges Nigerians To Unite Against Boko Haram

6f419e72c507feb17578d6db5cfe08c6The Senate President, David Mark, has once again pleaded with Nigerians to remain united in order to collectively fight and defeat the Boko Haram insurgents, who he described as the common enemy of the nation.

Mark noted that the activities of the terrorists clearly shows that they do not represent anything good or religious inclination but purely extremists pursuing anti-people agenda.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, the senate president stated this on Monday in Otada near Otukpo, Benue State.

Mark also pleaded with the perpetrators of violence and killings to give peace a chance.

He said, “What Nigerians earnestly desire now is peace, love and unity to heal the wounds inflicted on us by insurgents and Boko Haram adherents”.

The senate president also called on all Nigerians to resort to prayers against forces of evil and that the people must not allow the evil doers to overcome.

“With prayers, God will put the insurgents to shame. The issue of security is not a matter for politics but an issue that demands our cooperation and action to tackle”, the statement quoted Mark as saying.
