Manu Satisfied With Flying Eagles’ Performance Against Hoffenheim U-23s

Coach Manu Garba has awarded a pass mark to Nigeria Under-20 team’s build up to this month’s World Cup in New Zealand.

On Tuesday, the Flying Eagles thrashed Hoffenheim’s U-23 side 5-2 in the first of a line-up of warm-up matches organised as part of the African champions’ build up to the World Youth Championship.

“We started the game slowly, but we later picked up to play our normal game,” Manu said.

“It was a good outing overall and I will score us about 70%.

“But again we need to work on our defence by taking on more defensive responsibilities and our finishing has to be better as we lost several chances.

“All the same, we should also praise the Hoffenheim team, they are a team of professional players and they took the game to us very early on.”

The Flying Eagles next game will be on Friday afternoon in Nurn
Nuremberg against the Nuremberg’s U23s, before they play their final warm-up match against Freiburg U23 team on May 19.
