Call Your National Youth Leader To Order, NYCN Tells APC

National Youth Council of NigeriaThe newly constituted leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Monday urged the All Progressive Congress (APC) to call its national youth leader, Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo to order, over his comments on the crisis rocking the council.
Dasuki had last week faulted the recent council election, saying “there was no election and the party has not endorsed anybody and the party has not asked anybody to contest for any position”, stressing that the Minister of Youth, who is supposed to be responsible for the conduct of the NYCN election, had not been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Chris Ibe, and made available to journalists in Abuja, the council said APC should not allow the trust of change reposed on it by youths be destroyed as Dasuki’s stand on the council might be misinterpreted as the party’s position.
Ibe said: “At this point we wish to call on the All Progressive Congress, APC, which Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo claims to represent as National Youth Leader, to stand up and save the party from this monumental embarrassment by calling Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo to order since he lacks the basic idea and knowledge of his constitutional mandate as National Youth Leader of All Progressive Congress, APC.
“We also wish to state that youth issues should be left for youths to manage, and on no account should old men who by themselves are grand-fathers should involve themselves with the Council.
“The council hereby advises Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo to be innovative and dynamic by occupying himself with meaningful programmes that will target and benefit the teaming youths of Nigeria, as a ruling party. The council is ready and willing to assist by partnering with the party in programme development, if our assistance is sorted.
“The fact remains that the APC has brought great and immense hope to the entire Nigerian youths with their message of change and we cannot stay back and watch someone, who does not understand the message of change to take us back to the wilderness of falsehood and misrepresentation”.
