The Chairman of the Abia State chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Reverend Theophilus Anyimson, has dispelled the fears expressed in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari came to power with a hidden agenda to Islamise Nigeria.

Anyimso, who also doubles as the Superintendent of the Umuahia Central District of the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, stated this on Thursday in Umuahia, the state capital, during the inauguration of the church’s project.

The clergy explained that Nigeria was too large a country and occupied an important place in God’s agenda that no single individual could unilaterally alter God’s plan for the country.

“Nobody can Islamise Nigeria. Presidents will come and go and Nigeria will remain. They say Buhari has come to Islamise this country but I tell people that it is not true. He has come to rule for four years or eight years, and he will leave and Nigeria continues”, he declared.

The cleric further enjoined Christians in the country to propagate the gospel across the length and breadth of the country without fear, saying “all nations belong to the Lord”.

Anyimson explained that the church project was aimed at multiplying the membership of the church in Nigeria in the next 10 years through aggressive evangelism.
