Kogi: Wada Defeats Echocho In PDP Guber Primary Election

Jibrin Isah Echocho-Idris WadaGovernor Idris Wada of Kogi state has won the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election making him the party’s flag bearer in the November 21 governorship election in the state.

Wada scored 709 votes to beat his closest challenger, Isa Echoho, who got 139 votes in the primary election, which took place at the Lokoja stadium Monday.

The election was supervised by the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who announced the result of the primary at about 9:42pm Monday evening.

With the successful completion of the PDP primary, the two main contenders in the election are now known – they are Idris Wada of the PDP and Prince Abubakar Audu of the All Progressives Congress.
