Timipre-Sylva-Timi-Alaibe

The Timipre Sylva Campaign Organisation has extended a hand of fellowship to former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Timi Alaibe, urging him to support the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva, in the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Sylva emerged as the APC candidate in Yenagoa on Wednesday.

Alaibe was Sylva’s major challenger for the APC governorship primary before he withdrew from the race, citing party interests.

Sylva’s team hailed Alaibe for withdrawing from the contest.

The TSCO, in a statement on Friday by Doifie Buokoribo, said, “We thank Mr. Timi Alaibe for his sportsmanlike steps to calm frayed nerves before the commencement of Wednesday’s exercise.

“His decision to withdraw from the race went a long way to ease the political tension that had built in the state.

“We have made a good start, but the successful choice of our governorship candidate, Sylva, is the beginning of a long haul to our desired occupation of Government House, Yenagoa, next year”.

The TSCO also called on all other aspirants and their supporters to join the APC governorship candidate “in the task of salvaging the state from poor governance”.

It said, “The responsibility to change the bad fortunes of Bayelsa State under the bondage of the Peoples Democratic Party is one that must be accomplished”.
