Remains Of Drowned UNILORIN Student Recovered

The rescue team of the Kwara state Fire Service and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have recovered  the remains of a 200 level student of University of Ilorin that drowned in a river on the campus of the institution.

Already, the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The deceased, according to THISDAY checks, was declared missing on Saturday after attending a keep fit exercise organised by the Man O’ War of the university.

The deceased, whose name was given as Onikenku Michael Atunde of the department of Science Education, was said to have gone missing after he entered a river located behind the Park and Gardens area of the institution.

THISDAY further learnt that the rescue team of the state fire service and NEMA have been working round the clock since last Saturday to rescue the deceased until his remains was discovered in the river on Sunday night.
