Kwara Central: Appeal Court Upholds Saraki’s Election

Bukola SarakiThe Federal Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, on Wednesday upheld the election of Dr. Bukola Saraki as the senator representing Kwara Central District in the National Assembly.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq had appealed the decision of the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Kwara State, which upheld Saraki’s election as the senator representing the district.

Dissatisfied with the ruling, Alhaji Abdulrasaq had approached the Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin to set aside the tribunal’s judgment.

Presiding Judge of the court, Justice J.S. Ikyegh, while reading the judgment, said there was no basis ‎for the appeal as the appellant did not prove his case with enough witness.
