Gabonese forward, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been named the Bundesliga Player of the year for the 2015/2016 season. The Borrusia Dortmund striker has had a spectacular season and was earlier in the year named African Player of the Year ahead of Yaya Toure.
He was named Bundesliga player of the season ahead of the league’s top scorer, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as his team also finished second in the league.
With 25 goals and six assists in just 31 league games, there’s really no doubt how much of an impact Aubameyang has had on Dortmund this season. He expressed excitement at receiving the award as he said,
“It’s a great honour to be recognised and appreciated by your fellow colleagues, this is for everyone at Dortmund and our amazing fans.”
