Police Recruitment: More Than 300,000 Candidates Undergo Screening

More than 300,000 candidates are participating in the physical screening to join the Nigerian Police Force, taking place across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.

However, only 10,000 of them will be recruited into the force.

Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mr Mike Okiro, while speaking with Channels Television in Abuja disclosed that over 900,000 people applied to join the force when the recruitment exercise started in April 2016.

According to Okiro, the initial number was reduced to 300,000 using a computer elimination process. However, the former Inspector General of Police said only qualified candidates would make the final selection.
