Okotie was sentenced along with a 25-year-old man, Kingsley Ebose, who was also jailed for six years without an option of fine.

They were convicted by a magistrate, Mrs. RacheaI Ogbevoen, who found them guilty on two counts of burglary.

The offence was said to have been committed on August 25, 2016, in New Benin, in the Oredo Local Government Area of the state.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Patrick Agbonifo, had told the court that the convicts conspired to commit felony on the day.
