Scores of persons are feared dead following the collapse of a building housing the Reigners Bible Church International, Uyo on Saturday.
The church, located along the Uyo Village road was scheduled to hold an event to celebrate the induction of its resident Pastor, Akan Weeks. The Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel was expected to be in attendance but was only reportedly on his way when the building collapsed.
Several people are believed to be trapped under the rubble as emergency management officials have begun rescue efforts.
