Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has arrived Delta State on Monday to begin the ‘peace tour’ with leaders in the Niger Delta region. His tour has been necessitated by increased agitation in the Niger Delta region as well as the interruption of the country’s oil production due to restiveness.

He will hold an interactive session with leaders in the region and is scheduled to visit Bayelsa and Rivers state.

The Vice President’s office disclosed that the tour will serve as “further demonstration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s readiness and determination to comprehensively address the Niger Delta situation”
