‘South Africa Match Is About Reaching Semi-Final Not Revenge’ – Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has revealed that Nigeria is more concerned about reaching the Semi-final of the ongoing AFCON 2019.

Both teams faced each other during the qualifications which saw the Bafana Bafana of South Africa beat the Super Eagles 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo and drew 1-1 in Johannesburg.

Addressing the media after the Super Eagles arrived in Cairo for the quarter-final encounter, Gernot Rohr revealed that his priority is to proceed to the last four.

“We are here to win. It is not going to be an easy match, but surely if you have to win the Africa Cup, you will not expect to be faced with easy games at this stage.

“We know ourselves from the qualifying campaign, and it will be no holds–barred on Wednesday.

“It is not a matter of revenge; it is about reaching the semi-finals,” Rohr said.
