Scientists have claimed that Ebola can now stop being referred to as an incurable disease after two of the four drugs undergoing trial in a major outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo were found effective and death rate.

According to The Guardian, the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that ZMapp which was used during the massive Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, has been dropped along with Remdesivir after two monoclonal antibodies, which block the virus, had substantially more effect, said which was a co-sponsor of the trial.

Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe, the director-general of the Institut National de Recherche Biomedical in the Democratic Republic of Congo said: “from now on we no longer say Ebola is an incurable disease”. He added that these advances would help save thousands of lives.
